Online Booking on WooCommerce

A WooCommerce store owner wants to sell appointments, rentals or classes as products through the store's own cart and checkout.

The tool for this setup

The visitor journey

Step by step, and what the website must do

  1. 1

Chooses the service or appointment type

Each service shows its length and what it includes before a time is picked.

  2. 2

Picks a staff member or any available

Only offer a choice of person when it changes the booking for the visitor.

  3. 3

    Selects an available time

Availability comes from the real calendar so double bookings cannot happen.

  4. 4

    Enters contact details and confirms

Ask only for what the appointment needs; extra fields reduce completed bookings.

  5. 5

    Receives a confirmation

Show the booking on screen and send the same details by email or SMS.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is WooCommerce Bookings part of WooCommerce?

No. WooCommerce Bookings is a paid annual extension that is added to the store.[1]

What happens at checkout when a booking needs approval?

Bookings that do not need approval are paid at checkout like any other product. When a product requires confirmation, Add to Cart becomes Check Availability and payment is not taken at checkout. These bookings check out on their own, so other items are removed from the cart. Once you approve the booking, the customer gets a Booking Confirmed email with a payment link, or can pay from My Account.[4][2]
