Why visitors care
Chrome advises people not to enter private or personal information on a page marked "Not secure", which is exactly what a contact or quote form asks for.
Chrome shows "Not secure" when a page does not use a private (HTTPS) connection, or when something is wrong with the connection. The fix is a valid certificate, HTTPS on every page, and no content still loading over plain HTTP.

| Check | How to tell | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Does the site have a valid certificate? | Open the site with https:// in front and check for a certificate error or expiry warning. | Install or renew the certificate through your host and set it to renew automatically.[1] |
| Is every page sent to HTTPS? | Type the http:// address of a few pages and see whether they redirect to https://. | Add a permanent redirect from http to https for the whole site.[1][2] |
| Does any content still load over HTTP? | Open developer tools and look for mixed content warnings, usually images, scripts or embeds with http:// addresses. | Change those addresses to https:// or remove the resource.[3] |
Usually that page loads an image, script or form over plain http. Fixing those addresses removes the warning.[3]
That is different: Safe Browsing has flagged the site as unsafe. See the security issue guide.[1]
